RECIPE: NESTLÈ’S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
I have seen this recipe on the Nestlé’s condensed milk tin for years and I finally decided to give it a try. Why did I wait so long? The cookies are delicious, rich and crunchy. The kids loved it and the poor dog was hounding me for some but unfortunately he only got bits of the batter and no chocolate bits as chocolate is actually bad for dogs. Poor little BG.
I slightly changed the recipe as I did not have enough dark choc bits, so I ended up with 125 g dark choc and 125 g milk choc bits. It turned out good, if I may say so.
Anyway, I have posted the original recipe from the condensed milk tin here. Enjoy!
Ingredients – makes around 40 cookies
180 g butter
1/3 cup sugar
½ cup Nestlé sweetened condensed milk
1 ½ cups self raising flour - sifted
250 g packet Nestlé Dark Choc Bits
½ cup Nestlé White Choc Bits
Method
Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease 3 large oven trays.
Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in the condensed milk. Sift in flour and stir until combined.
Add in the choc bits and mix well. Roll heaped tsp of mixture into balls and place on tray. Slightly flatten with finger tip and press gently down with a fork.
Bake for 15 mins until golden.
PS: I turned my fan forced down to 160°C and baked for 13 mins, turning the cookie tray around on the 8 - 9 min mark.
The cookies look awesome. Guess what I am doing this weekend?

ReplyDeleteWow these cookies look wonderfully tempting....perfect :-)
ReplyDeleteHmm .. i love cookies and so does my little monster. How can I convert these to ensure my cookies turn out like yours .. i mean in terms of ingredients .. cos as you know, the choc cake did not make it ... thanks for some advise.
ReplyDeleteHai Vin, wooww!! your cookies look so crunchy...Love to see that you're also in Aidilfitri mood like us..hehe...Since many of my cookies nak habis dah, elok you penuhkan my cookie jars semula..hehe
ReplyDeleteHi Retno
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit. Unless you want to make them, you better not show your kids then! Ha! Ha!Just joking.
The cookies are very easy to make; maybe you can get the little munchkins to help. Only thing is, they would all finish before you can even cool them down. They are too good!
Thank you Usha. Not as healthy as your bickies, but you gotta indulge once in a while, eh?!
ReplyDeleteHi Jo
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? I followed the recipe measurements on the tin to the 'T'. I only changed the composition of the choc bits (but the weight ended up the same). My first tray was slightly brown (temp too high due to differences in oven), hence the reason I turned the oven down to
160C. If I were you, I'd put in a 'test' batch to check your oven temp.
I 'warmed' not 'melted' the butter in the microwave for 15sec (the butter was refrigerated and left out for an hour - remember that it is cold here in Australia so I had microwave it). I used normal sugar - if your sugar is coarse, you can ground it a grinder I hope this helps my dear. let me know how you go.
Love VG
Kak Ummmmi....good to see you back. I missed your blog.
ReplyDeleteYes I am in raya mood....what's the saying? If you can't beat them, join them?
Cookies dah habis? No problem...just hantar your cookie jar and I will penuhkan for you via airmail!
BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY again...Muahx3!
